Hauntings

Recently I went to visit Mapperton Gardens in Dorset. The history of this area is somewhat unusual in that the entire village of Mapperton was devastated by plague in 1660. Leaving no survivors and the tenements were pulled down. The numbers in Mapperton village have remained almost unchanged since the 17th century.

As I entered the village which is tiny, I can honestly say that I have never been in a place so haunted as Mapperton. It is an intense experience as you are aware that not just one building is affected but the whole village including Mapperton Manor House itself. Certainly the expression "we are not alone" comes to mind I think this must be one of the most haunted places in England.

Later when walking around the Manor house gardens, I felt a presence by an ornamental pond. When I turned, there was a lady with two small children dressed in period costume. I could feel their presence as I continued my tour through the gardens. It felt as if they were watching me as much as I was watching them. This is a very special place which is a must to visit.

Easter

Easter is upon us again and more than ever it symbolizes a time of rebirth when we move forward and leave the past behind us in a sense we will be reborn, empowered and free to live our lives and be true to who we really are and who we want to be.

The Purity Of Gold

Gold comes in many forms but the rarest form occurs in quartz crystal which is rare and beautiful. The colour ranges from deep golden yellow, silvery white and an orange-red.

Gold symbolizes the purity of spirit, allowing us to obtain a communion with the source of being. The energy from gold allows our inner beauty to open and unfold through life’s journey. Gold has been used in development, balance and purification, and works well with the heart chakra and third eye.

Works well with the astrological sign of Leo.

Medical applications: Rejuvenation of endocrine system, absorption of vitamins and minerals, skeletal structure. It can help to balance the right brain/left brain with conditions such as autism, epilepsy, dyslexia and physical coordination.

Ghosts, Phantom Hounds of Wistmans Wood, Devon

In Wistman Woods it is said that the Yeth Hounds still haunt these ancient woods. Others have encountered monks in white robes in a funeral procession. Twisted oaks hundreds of years old have survived in this woodland, which may have been used by druids as a place of worship. It's name itself derives from the local word "whisht" which means "eerie". If you come to Devon and wish to visit this area it can only be reached by footpath as there is no direct access.

Cures That Were Used In The 17th Century

The Chinese people of the 17th century have used plants for medicinal purposes for 4500 years, many of these were brought to Europe at that time. Domestic plants such as foxglove and marshmellow were used to cure illnesses. As well as the use of plants at this time doctors believed in the power of powders which were made from strange ingredients such as horn from a unicorn and the bezoar stone. Which I believe was made famous in J.K.Rowling's Harry Potter books, which was claimed to be the tears of a stag turned to stone. They used many strange ingredients such as live worms, fox lungs for asthma, spider’s webs, swallow nests and skulls of executed criminals. All these extraordinary ingredients were highly sought after in the mid 17th century.

Flint is a type of chalcedony it ranges in colour from grey, smoky-brown and brown-black. This mineral is used for thought transference such as ideas, loving messages and connecting with the energy of the universe. Can relieve shyness and stimulate intimate and personal experiences, whilst cutting ties with difficult or distressful situations.

Some ancient tribes would use this stone as a protection against sites that were thought to be haunted. Helps to give insight into the unknown as well as helping you to manage your finances. It is a talisman for intellectual, psychological, as well as bringing strength through confrontations.

Spiritual healing through divining

Divination has long been used to foretell a diagnosis of medical symptoms. But still today we use it in one form or another dreams, omens, astrology, dowsing and palmistry. I often think that spiritual healing integrates this system through certain aspects of divining through higher levels of vibrational energy. Though it must be said that dreams play an important part of the human psyche and help guide us towards inner issues as do omens and should not be so easily ignored. As is our own inner built system that is always there to guide us, our own intuition which we ignore at our own peril.  Perhaps we just need to be aware of all the signs that stand before us and take a walk into the unknown and let go of our preconceptions one step at a time.

Blocks in our lives

It’s strange how life has its ups and downs just when you think that everything is settled and running smoothly, bang that one step forward turned into two steps backwards. Blocks are very often caused when we have suffered emotional stress or when we go into fear which can be distressing.

Recently I suffered a sad loss, as my cat who after nearly seventeen years had to be put to sleep. I began to sink into a kind of apathy and was unable to continue my spiritual work as I had become blocked, and began to go into a state of fear.

When I started to work with spirit again a few days later it was as if all my gifts had vanished and my readings and healing work had to be put on hold until I could work through my fears and why I was blocked. Working on oneself is a constant journey but facing things head on and not allowing old habits to suffocate us what makes us all so special.

Thanks to my partner, friends and spirit guides I am now back on track and are in touch with my inner peace again. I was not sure whether to share this with you all but it felt right when I began to write this post.

Emerald is a type of beryl and crystallizes into prismatic crystals, the color is emerald green. Emerald is known as the „stone of successful love“, providing wellbeing, sensitivity and loyalty. It can be used to activate the heart chakra, whilst calming emotions bringing a sense of balance into your lives. This stone can be used to remove negativity from yourself which will bring forth positive actions on a practical level. It is useful during meditation by aiding rhythmic breathing essential to reaching a trance like state.

Medical applications: Has been used for disorders of the spine, heart, lungs and muscular system. It can be used to soothe eyes.

Conscious medicine

One of the last books that Gill Edwards wrote was “Conscious Medicine”. This spiritual author of "Living Magically" and "Life is a gift" reveals the latest in current scientific revolution in physics and biology. This book explains how stress and emotional trauma lead us to illness and disease, and how our thoughts actually affect our DNA, packed full of interesting case studies and recent research, a whole new approach to our health and wellbeing.

Sadly Gill Edwards is no longer with us and will be sadly missed, but her teachings live on.

We are the sum of our lives

Many times I have been asked my opinion on how our unresolved problems are to do with reincarnation. To quote my Indian spirit guide "We are the sum of our lives” so as we carry a part of each of our lives with us so we carry our unresolved issues.

We don’t really need to explore who we were then because everything that is an issue in our lives today is what is left over from past through into the present. I know that sounds a bit Zen but sometimes we can over complicate the why and the where. There are times of course when it is needed because the circumstances surrounding our issues have been brought forward and escalate.

When this happens it’s because in a past life we suffered or were affected by deep tragedy. So to cut a long story short if we deal with our issues in the now we will succeed in moving forward as the person we know and want to be.

Psychic vampires

No I don’t believe in blood sucking vampires and I’m not asking you to either, but psychic vampires do exist. You see, there are two types of vampires, people and earthbound spirits. 

The first type of vampire we encounter are certain types of people who are just at a low point in their life and through no conscious thought of their own leave you drained and weak, I think we have all met them at one time or another.  

Then there is the type of person who feeds off this energy and uses this to make them feel energized and alive again thankfully these types of people are few and far between but do exist. 

The second type of phsycic vampire is earthbound spirits who feed off our energy in order that they can exist here in our world instead of moving on into the light. This happens to most of us but we are not always aware that there is someone around us.
